Releases & Exonerations

In the years since the founding of Innocence Project of Texas in 2006, we have contributed to the release and exoneration of 34 wrongfully convicted Texans. The path to an exoneration is long and expensive, at an average cost of $235,000 with the average exoneree spending 14 years imprisoned.
